Abstraction & Line Study

 

This project focuses on translating the mood and rhythm of a classical or jazz piece into an abstract poster using only non-intersecting straight lines.

 

By varying line weight, spacing, direction, and density, students expressed the music’s energy without relying on imagery.

 

The project emphasizes design sensitivity, effective use of negative space and color, and technical proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
